We had the honor of hosting Day 1 of the Fall Arkansas School-Based Health Centers Conference right here on our campus, along with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the opening of our new Equine Therapy Barn!
School-based health center teams from across Arkansas, along with state leaders, visited our campus to learn more about our school-based mental health program and how we are incorporating equine therapy to support our students.
During their visit, guests heard from Mr. Ben Cravens, our School-Based Mental Health Coordinator, toured our new equine therapy facility, and had the opportunity to visit our School-Based Health Center with Megan Cooper, our School-Based Health Center Coordinator.
Mr. Ben also had the opportunity to visit with KAIT for an interview about our equine therapy program and the exciting growth we are experiencing. KAIT has followed our story since the very beginning of our equine therapy program, and we appreciate their continued interest in sharing the work we are doing to support our students!
We want to extend a special thank-you to the Spring River Chamber of Commerce for hosting our ribbon-cutting ceremony, to our community members who joined us for this special occasion, and to all of our guests from districts across the state who participated in the conference.
We are incredibly excited to officially open our equine therapy facility and continue expanding the services and opportunities available to our students. This is another exciting step forward in our commitment to supporting the overall health and well-being of students throughout the Highland School District!
